Our Professional Air Duct Cleaning Process
- Water-proof drop cloths are laid out to protect your home.
- The air duct cleaning machine, and compressed air equipment now get setup and properly positioned to allow for the most direct connection to your heating and cooling equipment and its associated duct work.
- Before the air duct cleaning process begins our technician will cycle your heating and cooling system. This is to ensure that everything is functioning properly, if any problems are found you will be notified immediately before the duct cleaning process begins.
- Holes are cut into the hvac air plenums in strategic locations. These holes are large enough to accommodate the vacuum hose connected to our duct cleaning equipment. (12" Holes)
- The air duct cleaning vacuum hose is connected to the supply plenum to create a negative pressure vacuum thru every air duct. Remember, we clean one side of the hvac duct system at a time to prevent any blow back into the home.
- Air duct vents are blocked using a special material we call "register-tape". We leave one air duct vent unblocked at any given time. This concentrates the suction that is applied at the air plenum to one air vent at a time.
- All air duct cleaning equipment is now turned on, and the duct cleaning process begins.
- The ducts now get air washed @ 200 PSI), and mechanically air brushed depending on the construction type and contamination. These tools are all remote reaching, much like a plumbers snake and are ½" in diameter. Their use results in all contamination inside the duct work to be moved into the air plenum where the duct cleaning vacuum is connected. Although the duct cleaning machine vacuum power is substantial, no harm is done to your duct system. Once this individual air duct is finished we will apply register-tape and move to the next vent opening. 9. After all the supply air ducts are cleaned in this manner we repeat steps 4 through 8 on your return duct work.
- Once all your supply and return air ducts are cleaned and visibly inspected,we then clean your hvac air handling unit. We clean the blower area by removing it if accessible, and then we will clean your evaporator coil (in-place cleaning). Matted evaporator coils are a breeding ground for microbes, if the evaporator coil hasn't been cleaned in some time you can experience up to 20% less efficiency. The condensate drain pan is also air washed and drained.
- Your heating and cooling system is reassembled; your filter is inspected, and if a replacement filter is available will install it for you.
- All access openings created are sealed up with 24 gauge sheet metal panels. An air tight seal is made with either an acrylic based metal tape or mastic sealant.
- The hvac system is turned on, and then our duct cleaning technician will make sure the air handler is cycling properly.
- The working area is cleaned and inspected, and the duct cleaning equipment is removed from your home. Nothing is left except for fresh air.
